Charges Expected in Chesterfield Crash That Hospitalized 3

Several vehicles were involved in the Sunday crash, police said.

A Chesterfield Township man who was driving on a suspended license before a pile up crash Sunday on 23 Mile near I-94 is expected to face charges, township police told Patch Monday.

Investigators say the 55-year-old Ford pickup driver and two other motorists were hospitalized following the accident around 1:35 p.m. with non-life threatening injuries.

The pickup driver is suspected to have suffered a medical issue before his truck rear-ended an Aztec and Yukon sitting at the light at eastbound 23 Mile overpass just before Donner. The pickup continued on, striking five other vehicles before stopping, township Detective Sgt. Deron Myers said.

Police are seeking a charge of driving on a suspended license causing injury accident against the driver, Myers said.
