Holiday Happenings in Chesterfield Township
The community has several fun options, from the holiday tree lighting to a jingle from Kris Kringle.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and with that comes plenty of Christmas events. Here's the lowdown for Chesterfield Township:
Township Tree Lighting
- Where:
- When: 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2
- Pricing: Free
- Why Go: Chesterfield holds its tree lighting ceremony, complete with caroling, holiday crafts, cookies and cocoa. Plus there will be a visit from Santa; he'll arrive via fire truck and linger to hear holiday wish lists.
Holiday House Decorating Contest
- Where: Any home within township limits
- When: Nominations due by noon Dec. 12; awards will be presented at the Dec. 19 township board meeting.
- Pricing: Free
- What: Think your home or anyone else's deserves a little recognition for its holiday decorations? Know someone with a special knack with lights, color and design? Nominate any home by calling 586-949-0400, ext. 4, and leave the address with your message. The winner will be announced at the Dec. 19 board meeting.
Christmas Coloring Contest
- Where:
- When: Nov. 21-Dec. 16
- Pricing: Free
- What: Have a child who loves to color? How about letting him or her enter the Township Parks & Recreation Department's Christmas Coloring Contest. Pick up a coloring sheet beginning Nov. 21, let your child ages 1-12 color it, and return by 4 p.m. Dec. 16. Winners will be notified by mail.
Santa Has Some Minutes on His Plan
- What: Chesterfield Township Parks & Recreation is offering "North Pole Extension," inviting parents the opportunity to sign up for a phone call from Santa. Simply print the form attached (see below), fill out and return to township offices to get on the list.
- When: Submit the call form through Dec. 2. Santa will make calls from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6. Please note: He might not be able to reach everyone.
- Pricing: Free.
