Funeral Services Set for New Baltimore Police Officer, Selfridge Airman

Patrick Wisiniewski, 33 of New Baltimore, was an active-duty Air National Guard military police officer who served multiple deployments, including several months in Iraq.


Memorial services for Patrick Wisniewski are scheduled this week at Selfridge Air National Guard Base and St. Mary Queen of Creation in New Baltimore. 

Wisniewski was a New Baltimore police reserve officer and United States Air Force Active Guard Reserve 127th Security Forces Squadron veteran at the Selfridge ANG Base. He was a married father of five. 

He died Sunday night after a car crashed into his motorcycle at Jefferson and 21 Mile in Chesterfield Township while Wisniewski was leaving his regular shift at the base. 

Selfridge ordered the U.S. flag to be flown half-staff Monday in his honor. 

“Our thoughts and prayers right now are with the family of Staff Sgt. Wisniewski,” Col. Michael Thomas, 127th Wing commander at Selfridge, said in a prepared statement. “The death of such a young man, who had found his calling in service to our nation, is a terrible loss. Our Security Forces Squadron is a tight family and this loss is beyond painful.”    

Visitation is 2- 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Rosary, Friday, June 7 at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, DFAC, Dining Facility, Building #164. Instate  is 9:30 a.m. until a 10 a.m. Liturgy, Saturday, June 8 at St. Mary Queen of Creation Church, 50931 Maria, New Baltimore, according to Gendernalik Funeral Home in New Baltimore.

Donations may be made to Michigan's Thin Blue Line at any PNC Bank branch or at the New Baltimore Police Department or sent to Thin Blue Line at P.O. Box 415, Howell, MI 48844. They should be marked; ATTN: TBL/FBO Wisniewski Family.
