La Compagnie Musical Ensemble

La Compagnie, a Macomb County based
musical troupe will be performing at the 2013 Ste. Claire Voyageur Encampment,
Sunday, August 25 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lake St. Clair Metro Park. Founded in
2007 by local storyteller, writer and folklorist Genot Picor, this
well-traveled five piece ensemble specializes in historical music of Michigan
and the Great Lakes region from the point of contact between Native People and
French explorers to the logging and shipping industries of the mid-1800’s.  Songs include interactive sing-a-longs and
dance numbers for the audience to enjoy and participate.  In 2012, La Compagnie was selected to become
