Ste Claire Voyageur's encampment at Lake St. Clair Metropark

The 17th Annual Voyageur's re-enactment of the French Fur Trade during the 1750's. Their purpose is to teach, demonstrate, and inform visitors about the interesting times of the fur trade. They are dressed in authentic period clothing while performing skills of that era. Among the demonstrations will be silversmithing, blacksmithing, candle making, bread making, sellers of items (sutlers), artifacts, gun/hawk throwing.  There will also be Native Americans, settlers and soldier re-enactors.
 The event will be held on Saturday, August 24 & Sunday, August 25 from 10:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. There is NO CHARGE for the event, but,
 there is A FEE to enter the park.
