Fitness: Creating a definition

So you're either here becuase you saw the word fitness and identified with it or you're here by accident, and if that's the case, welcome aboard I'm glad to have you.According  to websters dictionary fitness is the ability for our bodies to transport and metabolize oxygen within our bodies. Well unless you're a marathon runner this probably isn't your definition. Charles Darwin would argue that fitness is your ability to pass your genes on. While that maybe true, it's not the type of fitness I'm writing about. Now a Powerlifter will tell you fitness is lifting as much weigt as humanly possible. While on the other hand the average soccer mom may describe fitness as "being in shape". As for me fitness means being the strongest version of myself. The wonderful thing is everyone of these perspectives are equally as valid. Sure, the word has a true definition according to a dictionary, but we all can have our own interpretations . Fitness is exactly what you make it. If you want to lift heavy things, go for it! if you want to be skinny, go right ahead! Do you want to jump really high? Great go for it. But no matter what your goals are, we all strive for the same goal, fitness. And we're all in it together; we're all trying to better ourselves in some way, shape, or form. While our goals and perspectives may differ, because of this shared destination we are a community. The goal of this blog is to increase the knowledge within this community, share some experiences, and promote fitness.I hope you stick around with me to reach this goal.
