In the event of rain or snow, the cleanup will be rescheduled.

After the initial cleanup, signs will be honored and put in place stating that the stretch of road has been adopted in Wisniewski’s honor.

Wisniewski had been a New Baltimore police reserve officer for two years. He was a military veteran who served 15 years with the United States Air Force Active Guard Reserve 127th Security Forces Squadron at the Selfridge Air National Guard Base, where he was a staff sergeant, according to New Baltimore police.

When the accident occurred, Wisniewski had just left the base after completing his normal shift as a Security Forces Airman before the accident.
