Welcome Back: Soldiers Get Homecoming at Selfridge

Nearly 300 airmen of the Michigan National Guard returned to Selfridge Air National Guard Base after deployment to Afghanistan.

One after the other nearly 300 airmen from the Michigan Air National Guard emerged from a narrow hallway at Selfridge Air National Guard Base into a sea of people gathered to welcome friends, family and loved ones home Monday evening after a four-month deployment to Afghanistan.

The airmen, members of the 127th Wing of the Michigan Air National Guard, were met with warm embraces, and countless hugs and kisses from those who longed for their safe return during their 120-day deployment.
