DIY New Baltimore!

This blog will be a DIY blog with a focus on arts, crafts, recipes or inspirational projects. A place where useful ways to upcycle, recycle, and repurpose everyday items in unique or clever ways.

People blog for a variety of reasons, they have something to say, they enjoy it, they are passionate about their topic and want to share their knowledge, express their creativity, have a little fun or share their ideas. I blog for all of the above.

This blog will be a DIY blog with a focus on arts, crafts, recipes, or inspirational projects. A place where useful ways to upcycle, recycle, and repurpose everyday items in unique or clever ways can be shared. I believe that all art forms intertwine, often inspiring creativity and that inspiration can be found in the smallest of places.

For me a DIY art or craft project brings an enormous feeling of satisfaction that comes from creating something, It’s a sense of pride, achievement, accomplishment, in the ability to create something tangible.

It is my hope that something you see here will inspire you and spark the creativity soul within you. Perhaps you’d like to participate and share your ideas here. Let’s have a little fun and see what transpires.

For this, the inaugural posting, I would like to share an idea for an inexpensive yet inspirational little gift that can be given to co-workers, friends, relatives or anyone you would like to make smile. I received one of these many years ago from a co-worker and it put such a smile on my face that I have been paying this little project forward ever since. The source of my smile and this inspiration – a simple tea bag.

I’ve sent this cup of friendship
A little bag of tea
I hope that when you drink it
You’ll smile and think of me

The beauty of this project is that it is inexpensive and yet has the ability to make people smile. Think of the possibilites for this little bag of tea.
