Hugs for Dad

An quick and easy all occasion gift that anyone can make.

Inspiration comes in the all shapes and sizes.

The inspiration behind this blog post is really just me sharing a cute idea for an item that I picked up at a weekend craft fair last summer. The table at the fair was filled with all of these tiny little boxes that were being sold for one dollar as a fundraiser. I gave them a dollar, took the box and placed in a drawer when I got home. You know the drawer I’m referring to--we all have one in our homes. It’s the not quite junk drawer where you place things you think you might need later. I found this little item the other day and thought about the simple genius of the  women who made these  boxes up by the hundreds to raise funds for their cause.

I looked at this little box and thought it really would make a great little all occasion present for any age group to make and will certainly make the recipient smile.

All that’s needed is a little box, jar, or other small container of your choosing,  some wrapping paper and ribbon. The project is ready after simply wrapping the container up  or decorating it as desired and then attach this little saying:

This is a very special gift
That you can never see
The reason it's so special is
It's just for you from me.

Whenever you are lonely
Or are ever feeling blue
You only have to hold this gift
And know I'm hugging you.

You never can unwrap it
Please leave the ribbon tied
Just hold the box close to your heart
It's filled with hugs inside.
