The Plan and Ground Rules

What future blog posts will not be about

Well, I guess by now, if you did read the first blog post about Mothers Day, thanks to all 3 of you, you may have thought to yourself ... Is there ever going to be another blog post?

Yes ... there will be more, like this one, but life gets in the way sometimes, and when writing is a hobby ... like any hobby it sometimes has to be put on hold.

After my reflective little jaunt about moms, I figure I better put some rules in place for the blog.

So here they are:

Not gonna be political ... not gonna do it (SNL circa 1991 reference, thanks Dana Carvey). Not a bad rule, eh? Isn't the blogsphere a little packed with ultra-lefties and ultra-righties? Not here ... not me ... just cause you can voice an opinion doesn't always mean a person should. But ... I do reserve the right to punch holes in dumb statements from political folks

Another great rule for me that ties to rule one ... no work stuff ... not here. Why? Well, this is a hobby, not work, and I do run a small business in the area. My name is on the blog and I am a member of the local chamber of commerce and Rotary Club, 'nuff said there.

So politics are a no-no, bloggin about work is a no-no, what else? Oh yeah, religion ... another no-no. Cause I may worship and so do many of you (hopefully faithful  [to me, not in a religious way] reader).    *****Pun Intended.

Anyway, what else? Well the kids may read this, heck maybe my kids, sooooo nothing too risque.

Which leads a next paragraph:

What the heck is left to write about?

Quite a lot actually.

I have a really neat family, a wife I  adore, and really cool kids. We stay busy around here with Little League, scouting, high school drama, charity work, and trying to stay in a shape that isn't round.

Lastly, as a goal, I write a few handwritten rough drafts of any post. Grammar may not be a large concern, but the voice and my tone is.  Aren't there enough serious voices out there?  Maybe a few too many "The world is a terrible place" type editorials out in the world. It may be hard to talk with your tongue firmly wedged in your cheek, but it doesn't stop the fingers from typing.

Anyway, that's the plan and the ground rules.

Thanks for reading.

****all this rain had me thinking about my favorite Bill Cosby bit.
