Alleged Macomb County Spider-Man Bandit Jailed on $220,000 Bond

Man disguised as super hero reportedly demanded an XBox One game after its release late last week.

A man wearing a Spider-Man masked hoodie who allegedly attempted to rob two Macomb Township sisters of the Xbox One game they had just purchased last week was arraigned on armed robbery charges Monday.

During the proceedings in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore, bond was set at $220,000 for Christopher Chapman, 20, of Clinton Township, the Detroit Free Press reports.

Chapman was arrested Friday. He allegedly approached the two sisters outside the Chesterfield Township Meijer store on 23 Mile near Gratiot and demanded, “Give me your game.”

They didn’t, instead questioning him about whether it was a prank. The man reportedly shoved his hands into his pockets, ran and jumped into a car and drove away. One of the sisters said she saw what appeared to the black barrel of a gun in his hand.

Police think he was at the store specifically because the XBox One game was released Friday. The attempted robbery occurred about 12:30 a.m. and Chapman was apprehended about 14 hours later.
