Boy Testifies About Mother's Fatal Stabbing in Chesterfield

A 13-year-old boy gave emotional testimony Thursday in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens, according to The Macomb Daily.

A 13-year-old boy testified Thursday that he witnessed his father stab his mother to death two years ago in their Chesterfield Township home.

"I’m standing with my mom,” the boy said in an article in The Macomb Daily. “I see him coming toward us. I see him stab my mom.

“She dropped her phone. She dropped to the ground. She was on the ground bleeding. I saw him stab her two more times in the back.”

The tearful child said on the witness stand that he heard his mother tell his father she wanted a divorce the night before she was attacked, according to the newspaper.

His father Leonart Nazarko, 43, is on trial in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens for first-degree murder in the Dec. 5, 2009 death of 41-year-old Andoneta Nazarko at the 50000 block of Dove Lane.

Defense lawyer Carl Marlinga, who is the former county prosecutor, told Patch in a he is arguing his client's actions weren't premeditated and he should be charged with second-degree murder or manslaughter.

Marlinga said that the 13-year-old boy and his older brother have since been adopted by a Michigan family.
