Car Safety Seat Inspections Offered in Chesterfield

The week of Sept. 18-24 has been designated Child Passenger Safety Week.

In recognition of Child Passenger Safety Week, Macomb County is offering free car seat inspections by certified technicians the week of Sept. 18-24.

  • The first scheduled time is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Center Line Department of Public Safety, 7070 E. 10 Mile in Center Line. No appointments needed.
  • The second scheduled time is 2-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28 at , 45400 Marketplace Boulevard in Chesterfield. No appointments needed.

Additionally, has trained inspectors available for car seat checks throughout the year. Call the department to schedule an appointment at 586-725-2233.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration designated the week in September to car seat safety to promote awareness about improperly installed seats. National studies have shown that four out of five car seats are not correctly used.
