Chesterfield Recognizes 'Firefighter of the Year'

Township firefighter Jacob Priaulx of Armada was named the 2012 firefighter of the year in the community.

Chesterfield officials honored Jacob Priaulx as the 2012 Firefighter of the Year at the Monday night board meeting.

Priaulx has been with the township for the past six years. He came to the department with more than 20 years of firefighting work in his hometown of Armada, where he served as assistant fire chief, Chief Doug Charbonneau said.

Priaulx received the honor from his contributions to the department and valuable experience. Not only is he a paramedic, but he's also an instructor who coordinates the CPR program and has a background in emergency management, Charbonneau said.
