Chesterfield Police Pursue Leads in Stranger Danger Case

Detectives chase down leads in attempt to find two men who asked a 12-year-old boy to get into their van.

Chesterfield Township said Friday they received tips about two men who approached a boy and asked him to get into their van.

After releasing information to the media Thursday about the Monday afternoon incident in the  parking lot, police were exploring leads about the men. No arrests were made by Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday, a 12-year-old boy was riding his bike in the school lot in the 24 Mile and Sass area. Two men in their 20s inside a maroon work van asked him to get in to help look for a dog. The boy ignored them and rode his bike to the back of the school where friends waited for him. The men drove off on westbound 24 Mile, according to police.
