responded to a small fire Monday morning inside on Gratiot.

Six firefighters from the three township fire stations put out flames around 7:10 a.m. and stayed on the scene for about two hours. They mostly encountered soot from a partially burned office space, including a desk and cubicle wall. The fire appears to have originated from a power box underneath the desk, Fire Chief Doug Charbonneau said Monday.

The bank was cleaning and airing out the building, which is expected to remain closed for the day, Charbonneau said.
