Chesterfield Township Man Nabbed in Harrison Township Bank Robbery

A 55-year-old Chesterfield Township man was arraigned Friday in connection to a bank robbery in Harrison Township, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.  

Brian Detmers was arrested Thursday following an investigation into the robbery at a Huntington Bank branch on Bridgeview around 4:07 p.m. Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office states.  

The suspect, captured on surveillance video, slipped a teller a handwritten note demanding money. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. 

“We released a high-quality bank surveillance photograph (to the media) right after the incident.  That photo generated a number of calls from people who recognized the individual," Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said in a prepared statement.

Bond for Detmers was set at $500,000 cash/surety at the 41B District Court in Clinton Township. bond. He was lodged in Macomb County Jail. His next court date is set for Oct. 16, police said.
