Information in this blotter was provided by Chesterfield Township police.

Unauthorized Craigslist post prompts unwelcome texts

A Chesterfield Township woman reported to police she received more than 80 sexually explicit text messages in one hour after someone posted a Craigslist ad in her name.

The messages, including graphic pictures, took place the night of June 14. One of the men who responded to the ad told her someone posted an ad in her name, asking men to send illicit photos to her phone, police said.

A Chesterfield Township woman was walking her Labrador on Meadow Lane around 11 a.m. June 7 when a pit bull ran out of a backyard and attacked her dog, police said this month.

“The pit bull bit and held the lab at the rear quarters causing much injury,” the report stated.

The attacking dog’s owner ran out of the house and sprayed the dogs with a garden hose to separate them. The Lab was taken to the vet for a deep cut on the back. Its owner did not want to press charges but filed a police report to document the incident, police said.

Smoky car reveals burnt rag, firework

A Chesterfield Township resident smelled smoke in the backseat of her car as she was leaving home June 12 on Rutherford Circle.

When she and her father inspected the car, they found a burnt cloth, firework and melted baby bottle. They suspected a group of teen boys may have thrown the items in the backseat because the windows were partially down, police said.

The teens denied throwing the items. No one was arrested at the time.
