Crime Roundup: Cigarettes Worth Thousands Snatched, Loaded Gun in Shopping Cart and More

Chesterfield Township 

Four men broke into a Chesterfield Township smoke shop around 6:05 a.m. Tuesday, making off with approximately $10,000 of cigarettes and cigars, police said Thursday. 

Macomb Township

Macomb Township Man Leaves Loaded Gun in Kroger Cart: The gun owner, who is licensed to carry, retrieved his weapon from the Sheriff's Office. He told an evidence technician that he accidentally left the gun in the cart when he became distracted while unloading groceries.

Grosse Pointe

Details of Jane Bashara's Death Revealed in Court Testimony: Medical Examiner Dr. Francisco J. Diaz testified that Jane died in Jan. 2012 from strangulation, her windpipe was crushed and she had internal bleeding in her neck from the force.

Farmington-Farmington Hills

Laptop, Cash, Jewelry Taken from Farmington Hills Home: Police believe someone got into the home through an unlocked bathroom window. A 24-inch computer monitor, laptop computer, $200 in cash, credit cards, jewelry and a wallet were taken. 

St. Clair Shores

Police Investigate Gas Station Armed Robbery: According to a release from the police, a man approached the cashier counter to make a purchase and pulled a knife from a plastic bag and demanded the employee open the cash register.  

Rochester 

Rochester police said they have identified and interviewed a person whom a 15-year-old says tried soliciting sex from the teen in the area of University and Main.
