Driver Reportedly 'Scared' After Accident, Flees Scene

No one was injured in Monday hit-and-run accident.

Charges are pending against an 18-year-old Chesterfield man police said fled the scene of a non-injury hit-and-run accident about 7:30 a.m. Monday.

The driver, who has not been identified, admitted he had struck a vehicle, but fled because he had never been in an accident before and was scared, police said.

Police Office John Papcun spotted the suspect traveling westbound on 23 Mile Road in a beige Ford Taurus and stopped the driver at the intersection with Sass. According to a news release, Papcun observed fresh damage to to the vehicle and asked the driver how it occurred.
