Firefighters Check on Small Fire in Factory

Chesterfield Township firefighters respond to smoke resulting from small rag fire Tuesday morning in Advance Boring & Tool.

Chesterfield Township said they responded early Tuesday morning to reports of smoke stemming from a small fire inside in the 23 Mile and Chesterfield Road area.

"The guys came to work in the morning and there was some smoke in the building," Fire Chief Doug Charbonneau said.

At approximately 5:15 a.m. oily rags caught fire in an unused paint booth, setting off a sprinkler head that put out the flames, Charbonneau said.
