Kwame Kilpatrick Put on Tether After Trip to Chesterfield Walmart

The Michigan Department of Corrections is investigating if the Detroit mayor violated his parole.

Kwame Kilpatrick’s trip to a Chesterfield Township Walmart now has led to the former Detroit mayor wearing a tether.

Kilpatrick must wear the device while the Michigan Department of Correction investigates whether he violated parole for receiving a $2,000 gift from a Chicago pastor, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Kilpatrick picked up the money during a wire transfer at the Walmart in Chesterfield Township last month. The story was first reported by Fox 2.
