New Baltimore Resident Charged with Medicare Fraud

A New Baltimore resident was one of 22 people in the southeastern Michigan area who were indicted for Medicare fraud, according to a press release from the FBI.

Checarol Robinson, 41, of New Baltimore, faces charges of conspiracy to commit health care fraud and additional counts of health care fraud for a role in a $20 million scheme to defraud Medicare by submitting fraudulent claims for psychotherapy services.

Robinson faces those charges along with Louisa Thompson, 62, of Detroit. The indictment alleges that the claims were submitted by two psychotherapy clinics and an adult day care center in Detroit. According to the FBI, those locations were TGW Medical, Inc.; Caldwell Thompson Manor, Inc.; and P&C Adult Day Care Center, LLC.
