Police Blotter: Attempted Shoplifting at Meijer, Multiple Reports of Property Damage

Attempted Meijer shoplifting

On May 1, at approximately 2 p.m., Chesterfield police responded to the , where a female customer had allegedly tried to leave the store without paying for several items.

The store's larceny prevention officer told police he saw the woman use a U-scan station to pay for some of the items in her cart, but not all. When the officer approached the woman as she was leaving the store, she told him she had forgotten to pay for the additional groceries, according to the police report.

Police learned the woman had prior retail fraud convictions and had attempted to steal from the U-scan checkout in the past. The woman was arrested and transported to the .

Unidentified vehicle damages lawn on Chesterfield

On May 1, at approximately 8:25 a.m., Chesterfield police responded to a home on Chesterfield Road where the homeowner reported that someone drove over his lawn in the early morning hours.

The damage is believe to have occurred between 1 a.m. and the time police arrived, according to the police report.

There are no suspects at this time.

Garage door kicked off track on Wildwood

On April 30, at approximately 3:30 a.m., Chesterfield police reported to a home on Wildwood Drive where the homeowner reported her garage door had been damaged by individuals unknown for the second time in two weeks.

The homeowner told police she heard a loud bang and when she went outside to investigate, she found her door had been knocked off the track. One to two weeks ago, someone kicked the door and left a footprint, but did not cause extensive damage. Police found two prints on the door from the most recent incident and believe there were at least two suspects involved, according to the police report.

There are no suspects at this time.

Property damage on Pinehurst 

On April 28, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Chesterfield police responded to a home on Pinehurst Drive for the report of property damage.

The homeowner told police that sometime between 8:30 p.m. on April 27 and midnight on April 28, someone had broken his living room window. Police found a piece of broken concrete on the rear deck of the home.

There are no suspects at this time.

Vehicle covered in spray paint

On April 28, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Chesterfield police responded to a home on Embassy Drive for the report that a vehicle had been vandalised.

The vehicle's owner told police the car had been left unattended in front of the home overnight. The next morning, the owner noticed the driver's side of the vehicle had been covered in dark grey/black spray paint, according to the police report. 

There are no suspects at this time.
