A Macomb County man whose 3-week-old daughter had 18 broken bones when she was treated after an alleged attack last year was bound over for trial in Macomb County Circuit Court earlier this week.
Lance Finner, 29, could spend up to life in prison if he’s convicted of first-degree child abuse, the Detroit Free Press reports. Finner, of Mount Clemens, remains n the Macomb County Jail on $2 million bail.
Authorities determined Finner was caring alone for the infant when she was treated for multiple fractures at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Hospital staff and social workers had called the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office to investigate their suspicions of child abuse when the infant was in their care last November.A web site was created tor raise money for Finner’s defense by supporters who don’t believe he’s guilty. It says Finner and his wife took their daughter to the emergency room after an accidental fall.
