A 21-year-old woman is accused of stealing approximately $60,000 from her employer at the Sunoco gas station on 23 Mile Road.

A trial date has been set for a New Baltimore woman accused of stealing thousands from her employer's safe, according to court records.

Taylor Klein, 21, is scheduled to appear March 7 before Judge Mary Chrzanowski in Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens.

Klein faces a 15-year felony of embezzlement between $50,000 to $100,000 for allegedly stealing approximately $60,000 from her employer at the Sunoco gas station on 23 Mile Road. She is suspected of fishing cash out of the top of a safe deposit slip, police said.

Investigators said they identified her on surveillance footage and recovered more than $50,000 from her apartment. She also was charged with a one-year misdemeanor of marijuana possession.

Following her mid-December arrest, she waived her preliminary exam Jan. 2 in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore. Her case was then bound over to the higher court for a pretrial hearing and arraignment.
