Woman Accused of Abusing Daughter, Offering Her to Stranger Sentenced

The St. Clair woman found guilty of sexually abusing her daughter and offering him to a Chesterfield man will spend at least 45 months in jail.

A 28-year-old St. Clair woman will spend at least 45 months in jail for offering her daughter to a Chesterfield Township stranger for sex and abusing the young child herself.

The sentence, handed down Wednesday in Macomb County Circuit Court by Judge Richard Caretti, mandates the woman serve a minimum of 45 months behind bars. She will get credit for 101 days already served, according to court records.

The woman, whose name Patch is withholding to protect the identity of the 4-year-old victim, . The plea allowed her to serve as little as 45 months for six felony counts, including child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to communicate with another to commit a crime and accosting a child for immoral purposes.

During the sentencing, the woman asked to rescind her guilty plea, but she was denied, court records show.

She no longer has custody of her two young children. They are in their father's care, prosecutors have said.

In March, she was arrested by the . At the time, deputies acted on information received from the FBI pertaining to a phone call from a Chesterfield man who stated he interacted with the woman on a dating website, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office.

That person reported coming into contact with her on the site and then engaging in a one-on-one chat and text message exchange on their cellphones. During that time, the woman forwarded him a live video stream of her and her 4-year-old daughter in a "compromising position" and then offered her daughter to him, police said.

After he reported the incident, detectives executed a search warrant on the home, where she lived with her mother, and placed her under arrest. The suspect's daughter and her other child were handed over to a relative and the Department of Human Services was notified, the sheriff's office stated.

The woman's early court proceedings took place in 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore before they were turned over to the higher court. The maximum punishment for the crime is about 20 years. However, the woman is likely to serve the lower end of the sentence under the plea.
