Woman Falls Off Bike, Blows 0.32 on Breathalyzer

The following arrest information came from police. It does not indicate convictions.

Bloody Fall Reveals High Blood-alcohol Level

A 52-year-old Chesterfield Township woman who injured herself falling off her bicycle had four times the state's legal limit of alcohol in her system for driving a vehicle, police said.

According to a police report, an officer found the woman, dirty with one lens missing from her glasses, June 6 in the 21 Mile and Sugarbush area. She had a bloody right arm after falling off her bike. When the woman was going through her backpack, a pint of vodka fell out.

Police dumped out the alcohol, called paramedics and administered a Breathalyzer with a 0.32 result. She was taken to Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Sunglasses Shine Light on Other Stolen Items

A 40-year-old Port Huron man was arrested on suspicion of retail fraud in late May at the Meijer store at 23 Mile and Gratiot, police said.

At approximately 4 p.m. May 25, the man was spotted trying on a $26 pair of sunglasses and then apparently left the department with the merchandise. When a township detective, who was at the store for a separate incident spoke to the man, he noticed he was wearing new shoes and a jacket. After the detective inquired about the attire, the man fessed up to stealing the $50 Reeboks and $20 jacket as well as a pair of jeans, T-shirt and belt he had in his backpack, police said.

He was taken into custody and booked on a retail fraud charge. He was released pending the authorization of a warrant, the report said.

Gun Snatched from Car

A 44-year-old Chesterfield Township man reported his Glock 27 was stolen from his vehicle within a five-day time frame in late May, police said.

The man told police someone snatched the $645 weapon along with its Black Hawk holster and $5 cash from the car. It is unknown where the crime specifically took place since the vehicle had been in multiple places in several days, police said.
