UPDATED: Chesterfield Police Seek Suspected Purse-Snatcher

An arrest warrant has been secured for the 44-year-old man accused of robbing an elderly Richmond woman in Chesterfield.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a 44-year-old man for a purse snatching in late October in Chesterfield Township, said Friday.

The warrant for an unarmed robbery charge, which is punishable by up to 15 years in prison upon conviction, is for David John Williams formerly of Roseville. His whereabouts are unknown, but he is believed to be in a 1997 silver Dodge Intrepid with the license plate of "CHX-4269," township Detective Sgt. Deron Myers said.

Williams is a parole absconder with an extensive criminal history who should be considered armed and dangerous. Township police are working with other local departments because he is also suspected in similar purse-snatching incidents,  Myers said.
