Brief: Mexican Restaurant Heading to Vacant Outback Steakhouse Space

The Chesterfield Township Board of Trustees Monday night granted a liquor license to Grand Azteca, a Mexican restaurant set to open soon in the township.

A Mexican restaurant is one step closer to opening in the former Outback Steakhouse on 23 Mile.

Chesterfield Township Board of Trustees approved a request Monday night from Grand Azteca VII LLC for a new Class C liquor license. The Grand Azteca firm owns and operates five full-service family Mexican restaurants in southeast Michigan.

A Grand Azteca restaurant is slated to open at an undetermined time in the vacant space at 27953 23 Mile that previously housed an Outback location.

Grand Azteca Mexican restaurants are open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. They offer a full bar and an authentic Mexican menu. Other locations include Madison Heights, Warren, Fraser, Troy and Sterling Heights.
