Brief: Solar Panels Shine Above Chesterfield City Hall

In effort to save energy and money, solar panels have been installed at the municipal offices.

Chesterfield Township is going green.

Solar panels have been installed on top of the municipal offices, thanks to a $181,100 federal grant. The project, which utilizes solar power to generate electricity, is expected to save money and energy.

In September 2010, the township awarded the roof project to the lowest bidder, Electrex Co., Inc. of Harrison Township, with a total bid of about $150,500, according to township documents.
