Chesterfield Supervisor: 'We Have to Live Within Our Means' (VIDEO)

Chesterfield Township Supervisor Michael Lovelock speaks about the fallout from the November millage rejection.

Chesterfield Township officials are mulling over ways to avoid police layoffs.

Township Supervisor Michael Lovelock said at the Tuesday night Board of Trustees meeting that the reductions were necessary because a tax increase proposal failed in November.

The board majority ultimately decided to place a moratorium on the layoffs for up to 90 days while officials work on alternative solutions. Lovelock and Trustee Christine Bell cast the dissenting votes.

Mr. Lovelock stated (above / Board of Trustees meeting) that: "tax increase proposal failed in November" is why reductions were necessary . . . . . . . Mr. Lovelock how about this thought? Maybe it has something to do with the way you and trustees spend our tax revenue?? Us tax payers have to budget, decide where to spend our limited household dollars - I suggest perhaps our tax dollars were not programmed to the best township budget???

Thank you Mike (finally the voice of reason) now can we end all the talk about another "special" election getting rammed down our throats?
