Chesterfield Township Trustees Approve Liquor License for Bagger Dave's

Trustees also approved the entertainment permit for The Fillin' Station at Monday's board meeting.

Local restaurants Bagger Dave's and had a liquor license and entertainment permit, respectively, approved on Monday night by the .

Township Supervisor Michael Lovelock said that Bagger Dave's Legendary Burger Tavern is a chain restaurant affiliated with Buffalo Wild Wings. The new restaurant paid $2,000 for a Class C Liquor License and will be located at 51364 Gratiot Ave.

According to the Bagger Dave's website, the restaurant has 12 locations open or slated to be open in the Midwest, including 10 in Michigan. The Chesterfield Township location would be the 13th.

The board also approved an entertainment permit for The Fillin' Station Bar & Grill. John Vecchio, the owner, came and spoke on behalf of his business, saying he will use the permit for a road rally and to allow comedians to perform in his establishment.

The permit was only approved, however, on the contingency that the entertainment would not include jello fights, mud-wrestling, swimsuit competitions or similar forms of entertainment. Vecchio said that would not be a problem, saying that he would not be pursuing any distasteful entertainment.

Vecchio came to own the The Fillin' Station — which has been in business for more than 40 years — after his father died and left it to him. Since then, Vecchio said he has tried to change the image of the bar, which he said had previously been known as a “biker bar.”
