The board also approved an entertainment permit for The Fillin' Station Bar & Grill. John Vecchio, the owner, came and spoke on behalf of his business, saying he will use the permit for a road rally and to allow comedians to perform in his establishment.
The permit was only approved, however, on the contingency that the entertainment would not include jello fights, mud-wrestling, swimsuit competitions or similar forms of entertainment. Vecchio said that would not be a problem, saying that he would not be pursuing any distasteful entertainment.
Vecchio came to own the The Fillin' Station — which has been in business for more than 40 years — after his father died and left it to him. Since then, Vecchio said he has tried to change the image of the bar, which he said had previously been known as a “biker bar.”
