Community members will rally around the new police station Oct. 3 for a grand opening ceremony in New Baltimore.
The event is scheduled 6-8 p.m. at 37885 Green St.
- Mayor Larry Smith will give the welcoming message.
- School Band and Anchor Bay Interfaith Choir are set to perform during a presentation of colors and a flag-raising ceremony. They will be joined by local community groups.
- New Baltimore police chaplains Karen Winter and will bless the building and officers.
- Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel is scheduled to do the invocation.
- State Rep. Andrea LaFontaine will pay tribute to the new station and force.
- Macomb County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman of Chesterfield will give a dignitary speech.
- New Baltimore will introduce the Building Oversight Committee.
- & Citizens Advisory Committee will do the ribbon cutting.
- The public is welcome to a tour and refreshments.
