Macomb County Volunteers to Be Honored

Citizens who dedicated their time in places across the county will be honored June 23.

The Macomb County Board of Commissioners will honor 55 outstanding volunteers June 23 in Mount Clemens.

Citizens who are expected to be recognized by the board have volunteered hundreds—even thousands—of hours to churches, schools and organizations across the county. Among the places they've spent time working in are Chesterfield, Clinton, Macomb and Shelby townships, St. Clair Shores, Sterling Heights and Mount Clemens.

The board accepted nominations for volunteers and is expected to present awards during its meeting, with a reception slated to take place afterward.

“Each year that I am involved with the volunteer awards, I come away
with a deep appreciation for the people who so generously give of their time in this county,” Board Chairwoman of Chesterfield Township said Tuesday in a prepared statement. “The board and I are so grateful and proud of these individuals for their sense of community service.”

The Board of Commissioners meets at 7 p.m. June 23 on the ninth
floor of the Macomb County Administration Building, 1 S. Main, Mount
Clemens.
