What position are you running for? Chesterfield Township Treasurer

If elected for the first time as treasurer, what specifically would you like to see done during your term? I would like to focus on successfully building a healthy business community in and to create an economic development plan that maximizes the community’s strengths and minimizes its weaknesses to combat the economic struggles.

What do you think the community's biggest challenges are and how can the community overcome them?  One of the most significant challenges we face are the economic struggles in our community, like many others. I will place a strong focus on maximizing the community’s budget while not compromising our quality of life.  

How would you propose making the police and fire funds financially stable?

We have one of the most dedicated and hardworking Fire, Rescue and Police departments in the area. I will work as diligently as possible to support these services so they can continue to provide the excellent services.

How would you make changes, if any, to community services?

I would like to explore how to avoid any additional millage or compromising or ethics and social responsibilities. I would like to maintain living within the budget and maintaining a good quality of life. I would like to encourage healthy and safe neighborhoods and work with our community on being environmentally smart.

Describe yourself: I am proud to say I am a father of two grown children; Michael (23) and Ann Marie (21) and I have been a Chesterfield resident for 29 years.

I have been an Active Member for Chesterfield Zoning Board of Appeals for 10 years and on have been on the Planning Commission for nine years. I was appointed to a trustee position. I have also held positions at the Library Advisory Committee for three years and the Building Authority for three years.

My financial work experience includes over 20 years where I worked as an Accountant/System Analyst for 10 years, a staff accountant for four years and an Investment Accountant for four years.

I am a longtime member of in New Baltimore and attend (of) New Baltimore frequently with my wife (Joyce). I have been a hard-working citizen in this community with many years of service with the Boy Scouts, Chesterfield Parks and Recreation and with Anchor Bay Schools.

While serving on the ZBA, I have served as Chairman for many years and helped guide the board in serving our community in advancement, growth and development.

What are your hobbies/causes you're passionate about? I love to spend time with family and friends. I am passionate about healthy eating, cooking and maintaining a well-balanced life style.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
What’s one fact about you that would surprise people? I am an avid gardener and I love to work with my fruit trees, flowers and with my vegetable garden.
