How many terms have you served: Two terms, eight years

What are the biggest accomplishments while serving on council?

The addition of the water filtration plant and the waste water treatment plant. Balancing the city annual budget for the past 8 years with no employee layoffs.

If re-elected, what specifically would you like to see done during your term?

Continue to work with the Downtown District Revitalization Program.

What do you think the city’s biggest challenges are and how can the community overcome them?

The city’s biggest challenges are going forward in keeping all city services running as effectively as they are today by continuing to balance the budget with state-revenue sharing being decreased.

How would you improve the city’s downtown?

The recent relocation of the police department will attract an anchor business that will bring in other businesses.  Also, continue to move forward with the Blue Print Program.

How would you make changes, if any, to the Parks and Recreation Department?

With the addition of the new recreation director, I will entertain any and all ideas that person has to make our city a better place.

How would you describe yourself?

I was born and raised in Michigan. I have been taught true values coming from a tight-knit family as well as my religion. My passion is to assist others in making my city a place that is safe and prosperous.

What are your hobbies/causes that you are passionate about?

I am active in my children’s lives. I attend all the activities that they are involved in, including soccer, dancing and cheerleading. I am also an avid golfer, and enjoy reading.

What’s one fact about you that would surprise people?

I enjoy cooking.
