Boat Dock Project Expected to Finish Next Month

The construction project is taking place off Anchor Bay at Walter and Mary Burke Park.

The highly anticipated New Baltimore boat docks along Lake St. Clair are on track for completion next month.

Final installment of the 10-finger docks that will allow 16 boats in the public harbor are set to take place in February, according to New Baltimore Clerk Marcia Shinska.

Construction on the docks began a couple months ago. The project is positioned near the water plant in what's known as the old beach section of Walter and Mary Burke Park.

The creation of a public dock aims to lure more visitors to the city's waterfront and nearby businesses in the historic downtown. The city and is matching the grant with .

Meanwhile, a kayak rental company is also scheduled to come to the beach this year.
