L'Anse Creuse Board Treasurer to Resign

Candidates will be able to apply for the vacancy in the near future.

L'Anse Creuse Public School Board Treasurer Jeffrey DiPascale plans to resign April 30, according to the district.

The announcement comes after DiPascale, who's been on the board since 2009, informed the board president earlier this year that a recent career change led to challenges keeping board position. He ultimately decided stepping down was in the best interest of the school community because he couldn't dedicate the attention it deserves.

“For the last four years, it has been a privilege to serve the students, the staff, and the community as an elected member of the L’Anse Creuse Board of Education,” DiPascale said in a prepared statement. “This position has given me the opportunity to help improve the quality of service to our students, while maintaining a safe and enjoyable working environment for our staff. I wish the district the best of luck in the future and they will forever remain in my thoughts.”

Superintendent Jackie Johnston stated, “Jeff has been a tremendous asset to this district and we will miss his counsel and support. We wish him good luck in his future endeavors.”

Information will be released in the near future for candidates interested in applying for the vacancy.
