Three Anchor Bay Students Expelled for Drugs

The Anchor Bay Board of Education came to the decision at the Wednesday night meeting.

The Anchor Bay Board of Education voted Wednesday to expel three students for drug offenses.

The students, whose names and ages were not released, will miss 180 days of school because of violations of the student code of conduct relating to drug possession, according to the district.

All three students are accused of distributing drugs to other students. One was allegedly in possession of prescription drugs not prescribed in that student's name and another one of the individuals is accused of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Details about the offenses were discussed in a closed session. Further information was not publicly released at the meeting.

In other meeting news, the board gave the ROTC cadets permission to take their annual field trip to Ohio for a drill meet competition. It also approved bond money to be spent on district repairs, such $20,857 used to fix the concrete outside of the entrance to.
