Whiz Kid: Jeffrey Deriemacker

Green Elementary student leads hockey team to league championship.

Whiz Kid:  Jeffrey Deriemacker

Age:  8

Accomplishments:  As a center for the Mount Clemens Wolves Hockey Team, Jeffrey helped his club win the league championship this year. The team advanced to the quarterfinal championship game at Joe Louis Arena.

In addition to Jeffrey's on-ice success, the second-grader maintains an A average, according to his mother Marcie Deriemacker.

Jeffrey recently participated in a video broadcast at his school. He served as an anchor on GNN (Green News Network) where he broadcast the morning news.

Key to Success:  Jeffrey is a kind and thoughtful boy who puts his best foot forward at school, home, in sports and his community, his mother said. He enjoys all sports including hockey, baseball and football.  His hockey coach, Joe Carnaghi, calls him, “Mr. Dependable."

Jeffrey hopes to participate in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in May.  His mom is participating with friends and Jeffrey wants to be part of the team.
