Anchor Bay Softball Wins Thriller in State Semifinal

Anchor Bay will play for the state championship after defeating Southgate Anderson in the softball semifinals.

Rachel Podgorski scored the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Anchor Bay a 1-0 victory over Southgate Anderson in the Division 1 high school softball state semifinals on Friday at Battle Creek, according to mhsaa.com.

Meghan Gall drove in Podgorski with the game’s only run and pitcher Brianna Crampton struck out 12 for .

Anchor Bay will play Mattawan in the Division 1 state championship game on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Tickets to the game are $7 and the game can be watched online at mhsaa.tv and foxsportsdetroit.com.
