Three staff members that see Nelson's talents every day share their thoughts on his strengths and style:

"Justin is an all-district defender and serves as one of our team captains. He is one of the most likeable young men that I have come across during my 16 years as a teacher and coach. Justin is well-liked by all of his peers and will be one of the top defenders in the Macomb Area Conference red division this season." Anchor Bay soccer coach Don Dzuik

"Justin always has a smile on his face. He is involved in athletics and a variety of student activities while maintaining good grades. He is always willing to help out and is a great kid." Anchor Bay Athletic Director Dave Boeskool

"Justin is a awesome young man with great character. Even though he is athletically gifted, Justin's greatest attribute is his spirit and heart. He comes from a great family and is a great kid in the community. He became our place kicker last season and was able to help out the team tremendously. Justin kicked the winning field goal with seconds left last year in the Port Huron game and has contributed to each Tar victory. This season Justin has continued to shine and as he kicks field goals and kickoff for us. Justin is definitely a TRUE TAR." Anchor Bay head football coach Phil Latona
