Chesterfield Holds Summer Salute Today

The free family event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at township grounds on Sugarbush.

Local families can salute summer with a free event Saturday, June 16 on .

The annual Summer Salute is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and features the Barnyard Express with an interactive presentation and petting farm. There will be inflatable bouncies, mini fire truck rides, airbrush tattoos and crafts. The township K-9 Unit and fire department will also be on hand for demonstrations while Tiny the Clown makes balloon animals.

--complete with a one-room schoolhouse, log cabin, cobbler shop and blacksmith shop--will be open during the event, offering the public a peak into the area's past.

The event is possible through the support of the township Board of Trustees, Presenting Sponsor Genisys Credit Union and Co-Sponsor Michigan Credit Union.
