Community Will Walk to Find a Cure for Cancer at Relay for Life Saturday

Relay for Life New Baltimore will be held May 12-13 at Anchor Bay Middle School North.

Come rain or shine, New Baltimore is doing their part this weekend to help find a cure for cancer, once and for all.

More than 600 participants and 41 teams will camp out at beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday morning, to raise proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society. 

According to the ACS website, relays are 24 hours in length because "cancer never sleeps."

Beginning with a special opening ceremony, the Relay for Life will host different themed events throughout the day and night, including Survivor and Caregiver laps.

More than $85,000 has been raised by this weekend's participants so far.
