Excuse to Indulge: Blizzard Buys Benefit Children's Miracle Network

Today, $1, $2 or net proceeds from sales of Blizzard Treats at participating Dairy Queen locations will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network.

You're not buying that Double Fudge Cookie Dough Blizzard for yourself, you're doing it for the Children's Miracle Network.

Keep telling yourself that because it's true!

Today, Dairy Queen locations throughout the U.S. and Canada are partnering with the Children's Miracle Network for Miracle Treat Day.

For every Blizzard Treat sold at participating locations, DQ will donate $1, $2 or net proceeds from the sale to benefit sick and injured children at the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

Since 1984, DQ has raised more than $86 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals–including $5.5 million in 2010.

And if enjoying your favorite Blizzard while donating to a great cause isn't incentive enough, Beaumont Hospitals is offering to sweeten the deal with a prize pack that includes dinner for two at Iridescence in the Motor City Casino ($175 value) and a $100 gift certificate to Chinn Jewelry in Royal Oak.

How do you enter to win a "Night on the Town"? Post a photo of you enjoying a Blizzard on Aug. 11 on the Beaumont Facebook page and you will automatically be entered to win.

New Baltimore's is at 35654 Green St. and is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
