In Brief: Bay-Rama Buying Land Behind Future Biggby Coffee

The community group envisions the empty plot as an investment, potential park.

 

Bay-Rama is buying a vacant plot behind the in New Baltimore, according to group member Larry Gingas.

"We will treat this more as an investment," Gingas said of the small parcel surrounded by an alley, Blackwell Street, Alfred Street and .

The volunteer, charitable organization has not determined a specific use for the land, but it could be a public park or potential space for the New Baltimore Farmers' Market, he said.

Meanwhile, Biggby Coffee, which had , is now expected to be open in spring in the empty building on Green across from , New Baltimore officials said.
