Volunteers Help Renovate Macomb Respite Home

Six members of a Troy church painted the walls of the flood-damaged basement of the facility for medically and developmentally disabled children in New Baltimore.

Volunteers from Kensington Church renovated the flood-damaged basement of the in New Baltimore recently.

Six members of the Troy church painted the walls—with colors that included “Watermelon Pink” and “Cobalt Blue”–and they hope to put in a new floor, according to a press release from the Judson Center.

“It is wonderful to have a fresh, bright place for our kids to play,” Respite Home manager Lori Attan said in the release. “It will make their stay with us extra special.”

The Judson Center’s Macomb Respite Home is a facility for children between ages 6 and 17 who are medically fragile or have a developmental disability. The home aids caretakers of the children by providing them a break from providing care.
