The DIA couldn't be self-sufficient, so they also tapped into the tri-counties. Just an FYI....in case you haven't heard yet, The CIty of Detroit can't be self-sufficient now. Anyone above sharing your "in-favor" comments need the address of the City so you can chip in now? As for the ballot wording being covert or sly, per The Detroit Free Press/8-12-2012.... "The ballot language does not specifically say Detroit Institute of Arts. Instead, it asks you to vote for or against an “Art Institute Authority” levying a tax in your county." Hmmm ... sounds a little vague?!?! (http://www.freep.com/article/20120806/NEWS15/120806083/DIA-ballot-wording )

Here we have a Director helping himself to a salary and benefit package just south of half a million per year that we now subsidize. I think the person running the Louvre in Paris makes about a fourth of that. Let them eat cake! Kind of like the bailed out autoworkers helping themselves to four figure profit sharing checks at our expense, but I digress... that's a whole other thread....

According to this announcement, The Oscar telecast will be presented on Feb. 24.The awards will be handed out at the theater new place as the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood district of Los Angeles, California.The ceremony will be televised to more than 225 countries by the ABC Television Network.
